Inauguration Obama 09

"To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West: Know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench you fist."

While sitting in front of my 1998 TV, with an electric heater at my toes, my full attention is on the Inauguration of Barack Obama.  My stomach tightens s as Aretha Franklin sings "My Country 'Tis of Thee". Barack Obama stood tall and strong as he delievered his 18 minute and odd second speech.  I felt that the speech was very strong and firm. Not as good as Martin Luther King's " I have a Dream" but it's historic. It was only 60 years ago when Barack's father was refused service in the same city President Barack Obama lives now. Times are changing quick. I can only hope our country, government, and World I live in has dug it's deepest rut, and will begin to support it's self back out, for my children, and children's children.
